Wire Length app for iPhone and iPad

Allows you to quickly estimate the length of wire or cable using a milli- or micro-ohmmeter. Eliminates guesswork in trying to determine the amount of wire or cable left on a spool and helps reduce waste.

Supports both standard metric and American measures and wire sizes, both aluminum and copper wires and cables, and also compensates for temperature. A verify function allows you to determine the estimated resistance of a length of wire for a given length and temperature.

Additional features include a pair of tools designed to help manage cables with printed length markers. One is designed to calculate the difference between two pairs of printed numbers while the other is intended to quickly designate a target printed number for where to cut.

All the tools included allow you to specify a percent tolerance. Rounding is designed to prevent overestimating cable stocks, and also to avoid cutting cables too short. The sequential calculators also provides the option of specifying pairs of adjacent numbers for when you want to cut in between printed numbers instead of through them.

This app is intended for use by electricians, engineers, electrical supply houses, engineers and other competent persons. A very precise ohmmeter, such as a milli- or micro-ohmmeter, is required if you wish to estimate length from resistance.
